This is a mock PSA.
I wanted to place a Black Trans Person in a type of “PSA” about fibroids. I chose fibroids because to me, their diagnosis and treatment offer a view into how medical racism and transphobia can contribute to misinformation and shame. In a calendar year where the U.S. is having it’s first consequential election after the repeal of Rowe V. Wade, I think it continues to be important to not just include but center Black Trans people in issues of bodily autonomy.
